About

Fort Wayne's Go-To Dog Training Team

Looking for a top dog trainer in Fort Wayne? At Dog Psychology and Training Center, we help you create a calm, clear line of communication with your dog so daily life no longer feels like a battle. Imagine walks without tension, a home without confusion, and a bond with your four-legged friend that finally feels easy.

We start by genuinely listening to what you and your family need, then build a training plan around those goals. With many programs to choose from, you are sure to find the right match. Our clients soon feel like part of our extended family, and their dogs stay our top priority. We also work with rescues and shelters to help animals in need whenever possible. Turning your pet into a source of joy rather than stress is what motivates us. Good behavior is not something dogs are simply born with — it is taught, and we are confident we can strengthen the bond you share with your animal. Explore our site, and if anything raises a question or comment, reach out anytime. We look forward to seeing you again.

Get to Know Krystal

Krystal Nierman has been training dogs since 2008. She has advised the Allen County SPCA and volunteered at Animal Care and Control, helping with spays and neuters. A professional member of the International Association of Canine Professionals, she also sits on the board of the Fort Wayne Pit Bull Coalition and is deeply dedicated to improving how bully breeds are portrayed in the media. She lives with a Neapolitan Mastiff named Morgyn, two cats, and two corn snakes. From 2005 to 2008, Krystal worked as an Assistant Manager at Petland while it was open. She has been with her husband Eric for more than ten years and is mother to Alaska (8), Raider (7), Reign (4), and baby Vega. Her love for dogs is matched only by her joy in helping people enjoy their pets.

She once had a Pit Bull Terrier named Korben, the best dog she ever knew. Korben had an unknown emotional disorder that caused him to unpredictably lash out at people and dogs he already knew and liked. One moment he was loving and gentle; the next he became aggressive, and while Krystal and Eric tried to regain control, he nipped Krystal twice and Eric once on separate occasions. Korben's condition was never a 'Pit Bull' issue — it was an unpredictable disorder with no identifiable triggers. His behavior drove Krystal to seek help from professionals, and from that moment on she has dedicated herself to helping others strengthen their human-canine bond.
